Part Time PhD Programme
About the Program
BESTIU offers Part-Time doctoral research program with a strong focus on promoting inter – disciplinary research and innovation leading to the Ph.D.degreee. The program aims at developing individuals into distinguished researchers and innovators in various fields under the aegis of the schools of the university. The Part time Ph.D. program is spans 4 years with maximum duration (from the date of reggistration) not exceeding 6 years. If the period exceeds 6 years, re-registration to be done with the permission of Doctoral Comittee.
Ph.D Degree Courses Offered
Ph.D. degree is offered by the School of applied sciences, arts, humanities and social sciences in the following disciplines
Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Environmental Science and Technology, English, Telugu, Psychology, Mass Communication and Journalism. Food Science and Nutrition, Geography, Sociology, History, Computer Science, Electronics, Languages, Library Science, Education, Economics & Physical Education.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility required for admission to Part-time Ph.D. Program shall be Master’s Degree or equivalent in relevant Discipline with minimum 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade.

Candidates possessing M.Phil. Degree with atleast 55% marks or equivalent grade and Master’s degree with 50% marks in aggregate in the discipline concerned shall also be eligible for admission.
Minimum two years of work experience in educational institutions, industry or research labs.
Program Structure
Research methodology and course work for 1 year followed by Pre-Ph.D. exam. Research work under the guidance of research supervisor alloted by BESTIU. Research review meetings once in 6 months.
Candidates possessing M.Phil. Degree with at least 55% marks are exempted from course work.
Admission process
Entrance Exam Pattern
Entrance exam conducted for eligible candidates will compromiseof 50 multiple choicequestions each carrying 2 marks based on the core subject at the post graduate level.
Candidate should secure minimum 50% in the entrance exam. Candidates who cleared GATE/NET are exempted from the exam.

Payment of Fee
 One time registration and processing fee of Rs. 10.000/-
Annual fee of Rs, 80.000/- (can be paid semester wise (Rs. 40000/- per Semester) in September and February) Fees is to be paid for four years (8 Semesters).
